Inventor Updates

Premium-Only for New Bots

We have received a massive influx of new users from BotGhost following their planned shutdown.

In order to protect the stability of our platform for existing users, free bots created after June 22nd, 2025 will require a Premium or Ultimate subscription to be hosted on Discord.

For bots created after this date, you will be able to fully utilize the dashboard, but the bot will not be hosted to Discord. We are currently requiring Premium subscriptions in order to limit server load and protect service quality for our paying and existing customers.

We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.

Inventor v2

Following the news from BotGhost (https://update.botghost.com), we have developed a plan to move forward while minimizing our risk of shutdown or interruption.

  • You can now export data from your bot's settings page. We have quickly implemented this feature to ensure data availability in the event of a forced shutdown.

Due to technical limitations, this will not allow you to run your bot standalone, but it will provide you with a text-based representation of your flows to help you re-implement them in another bot builder in the future.

  • We are starting development on a new platform, Inventor v2, and hope to release it in the coming months.

    • Inventor v2 is a partial rewrite of Inventor. We aren't ready to discuss specifics, but are working on significant technical changes to reduce our risk of a potential future shutdown by Discord.
    • Discord is creating an environment where are not going to be able to operate a large-scale free tier. As such, the Inventor v2 platform will likely be paid-only. We will be offering some form of a discount for existing subscribers. Subscriptions will not automatically cross over to Inventor v2.
    • You will not be able to move your data between Inventor v1 and Inventor v2. This means that all bots, flows, dbs, etc. will need to be fully re-created. This is due to technical limitations.
    • While this new platform is under development, we will continue operating Inventor v1 unless or until we are asked by Discord to cease operations of Inventor v1.
    • We are not planning on running Inventor v1 indefinitely, even if Discord does not force a shutdown. We expect to provide a transitionary period after v2's release, continuing operations of v1 until at least the end of the year.
    • We hope to have more information to share on this new platform soon. We plan to release v2 in a staged rollout. More details and a beta sign-up will be made available soon.
  • We have some specific messages to BotGhost users who are looking for somewhere to migrate:

    • Please be smart about the data you replicate in Inventor. Re-creating all of your flows is probably not wise at this time as we plan to end service in the future, once v2 releases.
    • We are working hard to offer v2 as soon as possible as a stable, long-term option for hosting your bots.
    • We would highly suggest recreating only the most important parts of your bot on v1, then re-creating your full bot on v2 once it launches.
    • Inventor is a different platform to BotGhost, with its own quirks and systems. While v2 will not be identical to v1, it will be similar. If you are interested in using v2 once it releases, it may be worth learning a bit about how v1 works.
  • We have turned off new yearly Premium and Ultimate subscriptions. Monthly subscriptions are still available.
  • The plugins/library system is unavailable on v1. We plan to offer a new library/plugins solution on v2.
  • Finally, an update on data recovery. Inventor v2 will not be interoperable with data from Inventor v1, and we do not plan to continue operating v1 long-term. Therefore, we have made the difficult decision to cease data recovery efforts. We believe this maintains the highest likelihood of Inventor surviving as a company long-term and we believe it is paramount that we prioritize the health of the company given the difficult situation Discord has put us in.
